We appeal for your solidarity as huge parts of the Luzon island in the Philippines, including Metro Manila have been ravaged by two consecutive typhoons – Butchoy and Carina (intl name: Gaemi), compounded by the effects of habagat (southwest monsoon). This caused flooding, landslides and other disasters in many areas.
Workers and communities need immediate assistance. Kilusang Mayo Uno, through its disaster response and relief effort Tulong Obrero is currently preparing to provide food and hygiene packs, and other types of assistance to affected communities.
