Kilusang Mayo Uno, KILOS NA Manggagawa filed a formal complaint before the Commission on Human Rights today pertaining to several incidents of police brutality and violent dispersal during protests in front of the House of Representatives.
Groups have reported at least four incidents of police using violence to stifle mass actions by workers, jeepney drivers, youth and students. The groups asserted that an urgent recommendation to pertinent government agencies must be issued by the CHR on these human rights violations.
Adonis warned the PNP that more actions and engagements will be done as workers call for accountability on these wanton human rights abuses.
