On this day, we commemorate the 67th birthday of our unionist and veteran labor organizer Ka Jude Fernandez who devoted all his time to the lifelong struggle of advancing the well-being of the Filipino workers and people.
As workers and unionists continue to be attacked by the state to take back the hard-earned victories of the labor movement, we become more determined to strengthen our ranks. His sacrifice serves as a beacon in our ongoing struggle for workers’ rights and for justice.
The lessons Ka Jude left behind continue to inspire us to strengthen our unions and build new ones. Although the PNP-CIDG brutally slayed Ka Jude, the spirit of his militant struggle remains alive in every worker we organize, in every strike we lead, and in every campaign we develop.
We will not let his heroism go unnoticed. We will continue to fight for justice – not only for Ka Jude, but for all victims of extrajudicial killings. The best way to pay tribute to his life is to continue what he started – by strengthening the labor movement and pursuing the tireless struggle towards achieving true freedom and democracy.
Justice for Ka Jude Fernandez!
Justice for all victims of extrajudicial killings!
