The Felixberto Olalia, Sr. Workers School (Olalia School) is a national-democratic institution for workers, aiming to develop knowledge, strengthen the workers’ movement, and shape people’s determination to advance their rights, welfare, and pursue the path of genuine social change. It is named in honor of Felixberto “Ka Bert” Olalia, Sr., the founding chairperson of Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU).
As a national-democratic school for workers, the Olalia School serves as a grassroots institution. It is run by and serves the people’s movement in their struggle for demands and for genuine and complete liberation and social transformation. Instruction, learning, management, and the development of this school is a collective effort by all those involved.
It is a systematic and sustained effort to provide relevant and appropriate political education to unionists, activists, and rights advocates to ensure the continuous emergence of new leaders, organizers, educators, campaigners, propagandists, and activists.
The main objectives of the Felixberto Olalia, Sr. School are as follows:
a. Ensure sustained, dynamic, and widespread education on the national-democratic struggle in a practical way, among both organized and unorganized masses.
b. Oversee the continuous production and dissemination of progressive and revolutionary educational materials on society and the people’s struggle.
c. Promote, advance, and propagate revolutionary culture within national-democratic organizations and among the people
These objectives focus on expanding and strengthening the awareness and actions of the masses toward genuine social transformation.
