Sixteen workers from two unions and one mass organization have successfully completed a 3-month course in worker-educator training under the Pandayang Manggagawa program.
The graduates came from the Samahang Manggagawa sa Phil Span Asia Carrier Corporation – NAFLU – KMU, Gabay ng Unyon sa Telekomunikasyon ng mga Superbisor – PLDT, and Migrante Philippines. The Pandayan was launched by the Felixberto Olalia Sr. School to develop the knowledge and skills of workers and unionists in carrying out educational work in their respective areas of organizing.
Workers completed one session per week, which included various courses such as: an orientation on the work of the National-Democratic School, workshops on cultural work and other skills, instructional courses on union studies, basic social studies and the Philippine revolution, and classical Marxist-Leninist-Maoist studies.
This intensive training is expected to serve as a foundation for expanding educational efforts from the union level and beyond, reaching even more workers.
The success of the First Batch of Pandayan is a testament to the value and commitment of genuine, militant, and patriotic unionists to educational work as a key factor in strengthening unity and advancing the struggle for wages, jobs, rights, and the achievement of genuine social change.
KMU and the Felixberto Olalia Sr. School congratulate the workers on their graduation and encourage more unions and organizations to enroll in the program!
Forge our consciousness! Study and train! Advance the education movement!
